The Western Bowie by Bub Worrell
Great use of traditional materials with a great traditional pattern and a theme that is as old as the West itself. Though many a cowhand would have given his eye teeth for a blade like this most would never even have laid eyes on one unless he had the good fortune to come across an Exibition knife. Many of the old cutlery firms were represented at these Fairs and all generally fielded at least one knife of superior quality and lavish embellishment. The pattern invariably chosen for these fixed blades was the Bowie. westland.gif (66510 bytes)
wdetail1.gif (15995 bytes)The long clip point fading to filework on this blade is just knockout and helps the balance so despite its length this is a very maneuverable knife just aching to be used for heavy work in the study display cabinet.
