Glue Recipies

Rice Glue Boil a handfull of sticky Rice.
Leave covered overnight.
Make into a paste.
Leave again overnight
Squeeze through a cotton cloth.

  • Pine Resin, 8 parts
  • Sulphur, 2 parts
  • Iron filings, 3 parts

  • Wood Ash, 2 part
  • Tallow, 1 part

  • Bees Wax, 1 part
  • Plaster of Paris, 1 part
Hide Glue Soak rawhide in limewater for three months
Rinse well and neutralise the lime with urine.
Rinse well repeatedly.
Bring to 45"C in water for 4 hours.
Drain liquid and save.
Reheat to 55"C in water for 4 hours.
Drain liquid, save and repeat at 65"C
Evaporate the collected liquid and dry solids.
Crush to a fine powder.
Store in a sealed container.

Casein Glue Heat fresh Milk
Add vinegar to increase volume by 20%
Stir slowly until solids and liquids separate
Drain away liquid through a cloth.
Neutralise with baking soda
Solids are casein
