William F Moran has passed away.
He was the man who led the way in American Damascus, blazing a path that so many have followed since.
Rest in Peace !

We have completed the second of two significant upgrades for the Auction. It may look the same but now the knifemakers can offer invitation only auctions for those special items.

We are restoring an old hearth. The project is ongoing and slow. Check out the progress to date.

Into cooking?,.... well we have a great page on glue recipies, yeah, why not make your own, this is how they used to do it in the old days and indeed the japanese still use rice glue for their sword scabbards. None of these glues are substitutes for epoxy but in certain situations can be more suitable.

We have rebuilt our forum. The new one has many features which the old one lacked. Now you have access to private messaging so you can contact other forum users, file attachment so you can share images of your knives, a proper search, language support for over 30 languages and more.

Jackie, at Dawson Knives has only gone and made her own site, and its beautiful, with a great selection of Dawson knives, so now there are more Dawson knives to choose from than ever. The Site is www.dawsonknives.com.

The Sheffield Bowie blade that I've been working on is functionally finished and looking good. In fact its the first really tasty knife I have made in years. I might work on it some more but for now I'm turning my thoughts to the other blade Rob sent, the Classic Bowie.

Barry Dawson sent over a great little carry knife which demonstrates his core skills and the traditional American origins of his knifemaking. Barry is a man who knows how to make a point.!

Tony Karlsson won both first and third prize at the Smålands knifemakers annual knifeshow with #16 and #26 on his page. Guess who won second prize!, thats right, Tommy Andersson. Hey, can we pick em or what?. Two great knifemakers from one small village in the middle of nowhere. How about that ?

Send a knife cardto someone you love.
